What is pain free laser hair removal?
Well with Soprano Ice hair removal is different to other types of laser – it is a ‘continuous motion’ laser which spreads the heat gradually over the area rather than firing a shot of laser heat in single blasts – this leads to a comfortable and gentle warming of the area, never getting too hot but letting the hair follicles heat up enough to permanently destroy those in active growth phase.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
With each hair cycle that is treated on the body, around 20% is permanently destroyed, however all of the hair should fall out each time, leaving your skin smooth and silky for weeks between treatments! After a course of treatments (most people need between 6-12 for around 80% permanent reduction – sometimes more for facial hair) you will notice that any hairs left tend to be soft and fine and much easier to take care of than they were before, and in some cases almost completely gone!
How often do I have to have laser hair removal treatments?
Body hair and facial hair responds slightly differently with a hair cycle on the face being around 4 weeks, but on the body it is around 6 weeks. Generally, we would want to treat facial hair every 4-6 weeks, and body hair every 6-8 weeks. Over time these gaps may increase as hair volume reduces and the gaps increase – however initially it is very important to stick to regular treatments for the best long term results.
Is laser hair removal expensive?
If you counted up all the waxing appointments you had ever had, plus the home care products like expensive razors, shaving creams, wax strips etc, plus the time your salon appointments take and car parking etc, costs are comparable or less to having a course of laser hair removal. It may seem like more money up front, but once a client starts treatments, they rarely stop because of the cost – the results are amazing!
Can you have laser hair removal on any area of the body?
The Soprano Ice Pain Free Laser Hair Removal System is so gentle that it can be safely and comfortably used on any body area on both men and women – even intimate areas. So this means that we can carry out pain free hair removal on legs, bikini (including Hollywood bikini or ‘full’ bikini including on men), faces (excluding male faces – watch out for the next blog to explain why!) We do however offer Transgender facial hair removal), arms, backs and chests, underarms and any other area you want!
How do I know if I am suitable for laser hair removal?
Soprano ice laser hair removal is so gentle there are very few people who are not suitable. If you have any current form of cancer or cancer treatment we will not be able to treat you and some medications are contra-indicated, and I can’t treat you if you are pregnant – however there is not much else that will stop you from having hair removal. A full consultation and patch test is needed in all cases though, even if you have had treatment somewhere else before. All skin types and colours can be treated, which is not the case for other lasers, so even black and asian skin tones can be treated painlessly and effectively. If you have a current tan (we ask for at least 2 weeks either side of strong sun exposure) or any trace of fake tan you will not be able to be treated, and it is at least 4 weeks either side of a sunbed tanning session – so this pretty much rules out treatment. We can discuss this in more detail in a laser hair removal consultation though!
What are the results like of Soprano ice laser hair removal?
Results can be amazing but do vary from person to person – hormones, hair density, hair colour, sticking to a good routine of treatments and a variety of other factors affect the results of laser hair removal. However generally speaking, if the assessment is done properly and the client looks to be someone who will respond well, there is no reason that their results should be anything other than fabulous! We always try hard to manage expectations and be honest about the results we expect to see.

Everyone has to have a full consultation and patch test prior to treatment, cost £30, payment in advance, which will be refunded at the first full treatment. To benefit from the reduced cost, block bookings must be made in full before or at the first treatment booked. All treatments must be completed within 12 months or treatments may be forfeit, and courses will only be refunded on medical grounds (and will require a letter from a GP or specialist), are not transferrable to other clients and may not be used on other body areas (unless clinically necessary following discussion with the Director only). All appointments will be with Francesca unless our diary means that we have to move you, however we will do our best to ensure that you stay with her throughout your treatment course. Requests to move to Sally (Director) will incur an additional cost of £50 per appointment.
