Can you use Skin Boosters instead of Dermal Fillers?

The Rise of Skin Boosters

Now we are in our lovely new clinic in the heart of Lichfield city centre, I am able to take stock of the treatments we have been offering – it really has been chaos lately!! However I’ve realised that we are starting to perform more and more skin booster treatments – they are definitely starting to become a staple in a similar way to anti-wrinkle treatments (not allowed to say the ‘btx’ word online unfortunately!!), and thought I need to talk about them more!

What Are Skin Boosters?

As we age, our skin undergoes loads of changes, such as loss of elasticity, loss of collagen, development of wrinkles, and a decrease in hydration and changes in oil production. These changes are caused by a variety of factors, including genetics, sun exposure, lifestyle choices, and environmental factors. Fortunately, there are numerous skin rejuvenation treatments available to help combat the signs of ageing, and one such treatment is skin boosters.

Skin boosters are a type of dermal filler that work by injecting hyaluronic acid into the skin. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to hydrate and plump the skin. By injecting additional hyaluronic acid into the skin, skin boosters can help to rejuvenate and hydrate the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of ageing.

Types of Skin Boosters

Here at Sally Wagstaff Aesthetics, we use several different types of skin boosters – they all have different properties so it depends on the needs of the client. The main ones that I use include Neauvia Hydradeluxe, Teosyal Redensity 1, and RHA 1, although there are others that I may use as needed.

Neauvia Hydradeluxe is a skin booster that is specifically designed to improve skin hydration. It contains a high concentration of hyaluronic acid, as well as amino acids and antioxidants that help to protect and nourish the skin. Neauvia Hydradeluxe is ideal for those with dry or dehydrated skin, as it can help to restore the skin’s natural moisture levels and improve overall skin texture, and can be used around the delicate eye area without causing puffiness.

Teosyal Redensity 1 is another type of skin booster that is designed to improve skin quality. It contains a unique combination of hyaluronic acid and essential nutrients such as amino acids, vitamins, and minerals that help to stimulate collagen production and improve skin elasticity. Teosyal Redensity 1 is ideal for those with fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone, as it can help to improve overall skin texture and luminosity.

RHA 1 is a newer type of skin booster that is rapidly gaining popularity. It contains a unique form of hyaluronic acid that is more resistant to degradation, allowing it to provide longer-lasting results than other skin boosters. RHA 1 is ideal for those with deep wrinkles and severe skin sagging, as it can help to provide significant skin lifting and firming effects.

Combining Skin Boosters with Other Dermal Fillers

Skin boosters can also be used in combination with other dermal fillers, such as traditional hyaluronic acid fillers or collagen-stimulating fillers – my favourites are Neauvia, Teoxane and Kysense. By combining different types of fillers, a skilled practitioner can create a customised treatment plan that targets specific areas of concern and can provide amazing results.

The Importance of Skincare

It is important to note however that while skin boosters can be highly effective to improve skin condition, they are not a substitute for good skin care. To maintain optimal skin health, slow the ageing process, and get the best results from your aesthetic treatments, it is essential to use high-quality skin care products that are tailored to your individual skin type and concerns. Alumier MD is an excellent example of a skincare brand that offers a wide range of products that can help to maintain and improve skin health. We mainly use Alumier here at the clinic, although do use individual products from other suppliers, such as Synergy 6 SPF, Micellar solution from Teoxane, and Advanced Repair from Neauvia.
